Gba Bios Bin: How to Access the Archive of the Gameboy Advance BIOS File

Yup Micro007 was right, the problem putting it in the retroarch default default .config directory is pain. but again we can be easily create a new directory under cpi home directoryand put all the bios file which is easier.or you can add a config to point the gba bios directory on your action.config

Gba Bios Bin

Due to recent changes in the Emulator Rulesets, it is now required to use the **mGBA BIOS** for Speedruns on BizHawk. This is due to accuracy & accurate timing (Source: _is_mgba_with_its_emulated_bios/dlqm7xs/ )# Where do I acquire a GBA BIOS?There are various ways to get a dumped BIOS.* **Dumping it Yourself** : If you've got a GameCube or Wii with Homebrew and a GBA to GC Link Cable, you can use this tool to dump the BIOS: -link-cable-dumper* **Download it from the Internet** : Look around the BIOS by using your preferred search machine and download it. **Avoid .exe files. You are looking either for a .zip file OR a .bin file**# How do I install the GBA BIOS?Once you have downloaded your BIOS (*extract the .bin file from the .zip file*), make sure you put it in the **Firmware** folder inside the BizHawk folder, just in case you won't lose it while cleaning up your PC. **Open BizHawk -> Config -> Firewares...**.Scroll down and look for the GBA item. If you have put it in the Firmware folder, BizHawk should automatically bind the BIOS onto BizHawk. It should look like this: this isn't the case, **Right-Click on GBA -> Set Customization & select your BIOS .bin file**.You are now almost done!# The Final StepNow you have to start Wario Land 4. **BEFORE you continue, make sure your Emulation Core is set to mGBA**.You can check so by clicking on the **GBA Menu Item -> Core -> mGBA** while the game is running. Avoid VBA-next at all costs because it isn't as accurate as mGBA and generally banned in the GBA Community using Emulation Cores.Go to **GBA -> Settings** and click on the **Sync Settings** tab. You will see three items.Set **Skip BIOS** to **False** and hit OK. will now tell you to perform a Core Reboot. You can do so with **Emulation -> Core Reboot**.*You have now set up the GBA BIOS w/ mGBA Core*.**Much fun running Wario Land 4 !**

The GBA BIOS is optional, but to ensure maximum compatibility it is recommended to use it where you can. It needs to be named gba_bios.bin and should be 16KB. The md5 for the normal version of the GBA BIOS is a860e8c0b6d573d191e4ec7db1b1e4f6. Other revisions or graphics hacks of the BIOS may work just fine, though you do so at your own risk.

Trying to play/use GBA through RetropieI have found several of what look to be the same file, gba_bios.bin that I have downloaded off of the internet. gpSP wants it named gba_bios.bin and it should be 16k in size. It is 16k in size in windows but when I use WinSCP to transfer the file over to the SD card it ends up as 0 bytes. I have tried Default, Text and Binary transfer types and it still ends up as 0 bytes. Any suggestions?

I was able to get the bios transferred by putting the card in a windows machine and copying the bios file to the boot (fat) partition. I then moved it via command line after it booted and now my GBA emulator works.

For GBA, you can either download Gameboid from Emuparadise and install it on your Android, or get "My Boy! - GBA Emulator" from the Google Play Store, which has a limited free version [No Longer Available], and a full-featured $4.99 version. If you get Gameboid, you will need to download the GBA BIOS that can be downloaded from Roms4Droid. The BIOS is a file it requires to run, and it will prompt you for it as soon as you open the app. Just unzip it, remove the "gba_bios.bin" file, and place it in the folder on your Android device where you plan to keep your ROMs (game files).

The GameBoy Advance emulator supports the use of a real BIOS (versus the built-in BIOS). To use a real BIOS, name the BIOS file "gba_bios.bin" andplace it in the "/wiimednafen" directory. Then, change the "External BIOS"setting in the "Emulator settings" to "Enabled" (to get to this menu, you mustload a GBA game and exit back to the menu).
